Breastfeeding twins is possible - and you can do it!

I'm here to say, been there, done that, earned the medal. Wait, just kidding. It's a thankless job, and there are no rewards other than healthy happy babies.
You can breastfeed twins by yourself, and here's how.
- Get a twin breastfeeding pillow. It is a must. I never quite figured out what the little piece in the middle is for. I never used it. You want to get the kind that has a belt-like strap.
- Strap the pillow around your waste as tight as you can get it. You don't want a gap between your tummy and the pillow. You are going to feel ridiculous at this point. You're going to feel like a walking table, and you're going to be WIDE. Almost too wide to fit through the doors of your house.
- Clear a spot on the couch and stick the remote and your favorite drink within arm's reach of where you'll be sitting.
- Waddle into the nursery, and scoop up the twins. Yep, I literally mean scoop 'em up and get them in your arms. This is the hardest part. You're going to have that dumb pillow wrapped around you, and it's going to get in your way. But it's impossible to strap it on after you gather up the kids.
- Hurry to the couch (before you drop somebody!) and have a seat. Football hold both babies. The pillow makes this easy. Their little heads will be in perfect position.
- Enjoy the experience. You'll have a great view of both babies' faces, and you'll cherish the one-on-one time you'll get with both of them.
- When everybody's done eating, slide one baby beside you onto the couch and hold the other one steady on the pillow while you unhook the belt. Now you're free from the pillow and can manage the babies with both hands.
Additional Twin Breastfeeding Tips:
- Switch sides each feeding. One baby might drink more vigorously.
- Pump often. The more you pump and nurse, the more milk you produce and the easier nursing gets.
- Eat enough calories. Your body is being tremendously taxed. Give it the nutrients it needs to produce milk for two babies!
- Stay relaxed! You're doing a great thing for them, so be proud of yourself, and don't stress if things feel overwhelming. You're a mom of twins! You're doing a great job!
